Acute appendicitis and colonic carcinoma in the young: report of two cases

Abstract

Obstructing carcinoma of the colon presenting as acute appendicitis in the elderly is well known. In this paper, we present a similar combination in two young patients. The implication of this for the management and follow-up of patients with acute appendicitis is discussed.
